Fat Sam’s Brings Summer Treats to South Wilts Mencap Party
3 August 2026
Community events are at the heart of what we do at Fat Sam’s Ice Creams. On 24th July, our team drove over to Salisbury Rugby Club to join the South Wilts Mencap annual summer party.
The afternoon called for cool treats on a warm day. Our yellow ice cream van arrived to serve our delicious treats to members of the local learning-disabled community, along with their families, friends, and dedicated carers.
Kimberley was behind the wheel for the afternoon, serving up our award-winning whippy ice cream to a queue of excited guests. Bringing our van to charity gatherings is always a highlight of our summer schedule.
We were touched to receive some wonderful feedback from Charlotte Feest, Chair of Trustees at South Wilts Mencap:
“I am writing on behalf of South Wilts Mencap to say a huge thank you for coming with the Fat Sam’s van to the charity’s annual summer party at Salisbury Rugby Club on the afternoon of 24th July to serve ice creams to all our guests in the learning-disabled community, their friends, families and carers.
It is fair to say that the arrival of the van caused huge excitement and everyone queued very patiently for their ice cream. Please pass on my especial thanks to Kimberley who was patient, cheerful and welcoming to our community.
All our guests absolutely loved this part of a great summer party and the ice creams were particularly welcome on a hot day.”
Supporting local causes in Salisbury and throughout the South of England is essential to our family-run business. Events like the South Wilts Mencap summer party remind us how a simple cone of soft serve can bring people together.
If you are planning a local community gathering or charity event in Wiltshire or the surrounding counties, we’re ready to help make it memorable!
We’re thrilled that the Salisbury Journal also covered the summer party – take a look through their photos here:
