On Thursday 8th May 2025, the nation will come together to mark a major milestone: 80 years since Victory in Europe (VE) Day, celebrating the end of World War II in Europe. Fat Sam’s Ice Creams is honoured to be attending the VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebration which is being hosted by Gillingham Town Council on the Town Meadow.
This event is not just a tribute to the brave men and women who fought for our freedom, but a celebration of the peace, resilience, and unity that have shaped our country ever since.
We’ll be there with one of our colourful ice cream vans, serving delicious soft-serve whippy ice cream, ice lollies, and other nostalgic favourites which are perfect for a celebration of this kind!
Date: Thursday 8th May 2025
Time: From 6.30pm – with music, stalls, and a special appearance by ‘Winston Churchill’
Beacon Lighting: 9.30pm across the UK
This is a wonderful evening for the community, with 1940s dress encouraged, live performances from the Gillingham Silver Band and Land Girls, and the Crowning of the Carnival Royalty.
So bring the family, enjoy the festivities and don’t forget to stop by for a scoop of peace-time joy from Fat Sam’s!
